My life has a soundtrack. Music played constantly in our house growing up β which means it now plays constantly in my head. A single word, a sudden feeling, a memory? Boom. Cue the music.
My dad was the mixtape master, and I definitely inherited the gene. His best-ever tape? Simply titled Rock 1 β not the most inventive name, but the vibe was perfect.
His process was beautifully analog β turntable, cassette recorder, a stack of vinyl, and a deep love of music from around the world.

Now 84, he loves watching YouTube reaction videos β young people discovering the songs he grew up with. If you ask me, thatβs legacy.
